Majors Ethan and Sue Frizzell were appointed as the Nashville Area Commanders and assumed their post in late June, 2017. The Frizzells have served as Salvation Army officers for over twenty years.
Majors Ethan and Sue Frizzell have recently served in Sarasota, Florida. Previously the Frizzells were the Area Commander of The Greater New Orleans Area Command with responsibility for The Salvation Army Center of Hope and Greater New Orleans Recovery Hurricane Katrina Response. Responsibilities include: homeless services, youth services, social services and disaster services.
The Frizzells have served as the corps officers of Columbia, South Carolina as well as Fayetteville and Thomasville, North Carolina. Most recently Major Sue Frizzell served as the Associate Corps Officer in Cambridge, Massachusetts as Major Ethan Frizzell completed a Master of Public Administration at Harvard University.
Major Ethan Frizzell has experience in disaster service from serving hurricanes in the Carolinas, the floods of the Midwest, the Pentagon after 9/11, Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi and most recently leading the response to Hurrican Gustav in Southern Louisiana.
Major Sue Frizzell is recognized for her disciplined manner of quality programs of The Salvation Army. Her capabilities to encourage others in mission connect training and opportunity for ministry for the young, and the young of heart.
Ethan, Sue, with their two children, Canaan & Hallie, enjoy spending time outdoors at the water, camping and family. There is great excitement to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Nashville area.
